The PTV xServer bundle merged together all engines, such as geocoding, mapping, routing, tour planning etc., to give a compact PTV xServer with the advantages listed below.
The geocoding service is the basis for an efficient address search. By using the batch mechanism, a pre-defined set of addresses can be carried out with one single call obtaining the geo-referenced address list.
A typical application scenario is to classify the addresses from a customer database. On the one hand the quality and accuracy of the address lists can be analysed, and on the other hand the location can be referenced by selecting the best address matches. The PTV xLocate Server therefore has to be put into operation.
A special licence key is mandatory.
Keep an eye on your vehicles and cargo at all time, with the powerful map matching function.
The vehicle tracker transfers current locations to the central system at regular intervals and displays them on a digital map. You can trace and track the journeys of your vehicles, goods and consignments in real time. Here, the PTV xServer are used to match the GPS position, find the location via reverse geocoding and visualise the vehicle's position on the PTV Map.
Your own application enables you to locate your vehicles and monitor your routes using the PTV components as background services. Besides that, the xMapmatch interface offers additional possibilities: Monitoring of driving behaviour, posting of target performance comparisons, checking of subcontractor invoices and verification of toll invoices.
Enter the nearest dealer locations and provide the optimum route from your home location.
Start the circumcircle search to obtain the nearest dealers in a user-defined range and calculate the optimum route to the chosen dealer. Put the results into the PTV Map.
Three components are necessary for neighbourhood searches, mapping and routing, in order to execute the above described use case.
PTV is your reliable partner for professional routing scheduling and vehicle routing.
The route optimiser offers a wide range of geographical and logistical functions and calculates the optimal truck route. It can easily be integrated into your own route optimisation software.
For professional route planning, many requirements, often very specific, need to be taken into account. The routing software components offer you support in planning field service activities and in truck and vehicle routing. The route optimiser considers all relevant truck routing requirements. That is what makes the difference between simple routing software and route optimisation with PTV xServer.
The route optimiser covers all specific routing requirements and therefore calculates the optimum vehicle route and a huge set of limiting factors, as follows:
In this scenario you integrate the xLocate, xMap and xRoute to achieve professional vehicle routing, taking into account the above-mentioned functions and data which have a direct impact on your route planning..
The corridor search enables you to detect points of interests such as petrol stations, hotels, etc. along a route, while respecting the specific accessibility of these sites.
With the PTV software components you can easily integrate functions such as radius and corridor searches and isochrone calculations into your own delivery routing software.
Your solution combines the address search for start and destination, searches for reachable objects and draws the listed POIs along the calculated route.
Define an area of a given location in relation to a specified distance or period. The isochrone indicates the area within the objects of interest that can be reached by a given vehicle profile.
This might be very helpful for safety reasons, to cover the presence of police stations, emergency etc. It is also relevant for predicting the impact of traffic on the city during big events. Moreover, there is a growing interest to provide required information, in order to find out how reachable the next open charging station is, in view of the calculated rest capacity of an electric vehicle.
The isochrone function is part of the PTV xRoute Server. It detects the location via reverse geocoding and draws the areas as always with the PTV xMap Server.
PTV provides special libraries to allow guided navigation, combining PTV xServer and other PTV products, called PTV Navigator components.
This enables you to create customised navigational solutions and transfer pre-calculated routings from the back-office system to your own application, thanks to safety services and optimised guided tours.
Coordinate your field force by using intelligent optimisation methods provided by the various PTV's API.
The PTV xTour Server provides algorithms for optimum sequencing, in relation to relevant limiting factors such as opening intervals, service periods, priorities, legal conditions, etc. The response lists the sequence of the tour and potentially invalid stops due to validated restrictions (e.g. stop can't be reached during the opening hours specified). However, the PTV xCluster Server defines the optimum clusters for week and multi-week planning, separating visits into corresponding clusters (e.g. per day or per week according to the specific pattern) which might be relevant for strategic planning.
The PTV xTour Server can also calculate overnight tours. Using the specific set of components, a strong field force solution can be applied.
Efficient trip planning is quite a complex task in the field of transportation. A large set of limiting factors and dependencies need to be considered for strategic, tactical and operational planning processes. Orders, vehicles and cost aspects (per kilometres or hours) have to be combined to compute the optimal tours. We have over 30 years of experience to assist you in finding the solution that fits best.
With its variety of functions, the tour module facilitates complex trip optimisation tasks. It considers many relevant factors, e.g. truck attributes, service of hours, rest and break rules and vehicle parameters. Expand your planning software with the recommended PTV components to optimise your transport management application. Additionally, the API enables you to depict in detail the reality of the situation in the logistics business. Select your functions from the following pool:
Benefit from our expertise in research and project solutions, such as fleet management & telematics, workforce & waste management, oil & gas, logistics & transport management, frozen foods & the food industry, heavy haulage and CRM/ERP system integration.
This displays customer locations and any further related data. Calculate toll charges or take legal conditions into account, directly integrating them into your human resource planning. CRM and ERP divisions have to master these kinds of challenges.
By integrating PTV xServer, you can add customisable functions to your software solution. Individually adapted to the needs of your customers in the fields of CRM and ERP.
Typical applications are field force and transport management systems.
Cluster Planning allows you to generate territories according to key aspects, e.g. optimal compactness considering the neighbouring areas or the most well-balanced spaces.
Here, the potential values can be included in order to optimally balance the areas in accordance with the customer-specific characteristics (e.g. revenue potential or service technician times). Clusters can then be generated taking the compactness of customer locations into account to achieve a good balance between the competing properties (compactness versus equilibrium).
The planning area is utilised for a strategic point (e.g. locating the best depot locations according to specified sales forecasts) or else it is executed from operational plans to form compact areas for route planning or to establish balanced territories for sales force planning.
Load space optimisation is required to optimally position goods in a specific order by considering product-specific characteristics, e.g. adherence with temperature zones (dry, fresh and freeze) in a cargo space. Thus, planning should be carried out quickly and accurately.
The planning task is to map transport units (e.g. roll container or palettes) to their cargo position with regards to the unloading sequence and the limited temperature chambers.
The objective is to minimise the delivery time of the goods.
